JES Houston Umpire Camp June 11-14
Hi everyone,
We still have several spots available for the 2‑Man Advanced Mechanics Training taking place June 11–14 at Waller High School. If you’ve been considering attending, this is your final opportunity to get signed up.
The deadline to register is Friday, June 5.
After that, registration will close and we will finalize the roster.
This is a four‑day development clinic built for working umpires who want to level up and prepare for higher‑level assignments. If you're currently working travel ball, high school, or competitive 15U–18U baseball and want to sharpen your mechanics, this clinic is designed for you.
This is not a beginner clinic — it’s for umpires who already have game experience and want instruction that matches the standards used at the college and professional levels.

MEET THE INSTRUCTORS
You’ll be learning directly from umpires actively working NCAA Division I, SEC, Big 12, JUCO, and professional baseball:

• Mike Garcia — NCAA D1 College Umpire & Region 14 South JUCO Coordinator
• Ken Langford — NCAA D1 Regional Umpire
• Chuck Busse — SEC & Big 12 College Umpire
• Matt Herrera — Minor League Umpire
• Michael Dorantes — SEC & Big 12 College Umpire
• Thomas Rodriguez — NCAA D1 Umpire
Reagan Wilkins — NCAA D1 Umpire

These instructors work real games at the highest levels — and they’ll be on the field with you, givingreal‑time corrections and feedback.

THE SCHEDULE (work‑friendly format)
Thursday, June 11 – Evening Zoom classroom session
• Rules, situations, philosophy, and the “why” behind the mechanics
Friday, June 12 – Evening cage work at Waller HS
• Live pitching, plate timing, stance, slot, tracking
Saturday, June 13 – ALL DAY on‑field
• Two‑man rotations, base mechanics, live game situations
Sunday, June 14 – ALL DAY on‑field
• More live reps, advanced situations, instructor feedback

No vacation time needed — weeknights are evenings only, and the full‑day work happens on the weekend.

WHAT WE’LL WORK ON
• Plate work — stance, slot, timing, tracking
• Base mechanics — footwork, angles, positioning
• Two‑umpire rotations and coverage
• Fly ball coverage, tag plays, force plays
• Pre‑game protocols and partner communication
• Game management and handling difficult situations

This is not a classroom clinic. You will spend most of your time on the field, in gear, getting live reps with instructors correcting you in real time.

AI‑POWERED GAME FEEDBACK (New for 2026)
This year we’re adding something no other umpire clinic in the Houston area is offering — apersonalized AI‑generated performance report based on your live‑game reps. Using advanced video analysis, you’ll receive a breakdown of your timing, positioning, rotations, consistency patterns, and decision‑making tendencies.
This is the kind of objective, data‑driven evaluation umpires rarely get, even at many higher‑level camps. It gives you a clear, measurable picture of your strengths and exactly where you can improve.
It’s a powerful tool that helps you continue developing long after the clinic ends — and it’s included for every participant.
