That time of year again! SKUA (Spring Klein Umpire Association) Basic I training for new prospective umpires begins Monday 1/4. Training takes place at Rothwood Baseball Facility, 22418 Rothwood Rd Spring, TX 77389. Minimum age required is 15, no baseball experience necessary. Learn the REAL rules, have fun, make new baseball friends, and earn some extra $. Houston is a baseball rich area. Too many games and not enough umpires. We all had to start somewhere. Our goal is to improve the quality of umpires in the community as a whole. Individually, also make you the best umpire you want to be, from youth to the professional ranks. All training staff currently umpires professional or NCAA baseball. We have a good reputation/relationship with other assignors in Houston. Completion of our training is honored by most associations in town. As an independent contractor you’re free to call games where you want. Since myself and staff will invest time to train you, we sure would like you to work games for us too! You register on site when you arrive. Walk ins are welcome.
