Texas Umpire Development & Camps: 2026–2027 Training Schedule

Umpires looking to improve their rules knowledge, mechanics, positioning, and overall performance can receive professional instruction through Texas Umpire Development & Camps.

Based in the Dallas–Fort Worth area, these camps serve high school and college baseball umpires at different experience levels. Training opportunities include an NFHS rules study class, 2-umpire camps, NCAA 3-umpire camps, and advanced sessions.

Whether you are preparing for your first high school season or working toward higher-level college and professional assignments, these camps provide practical instruction from experienced Minor League Baseball and NCAA umpires.

Meet the Instructors

Texas Umpire Development & Camps features an accomplished instructional staff:

• Jared Duerson — Current Triple-A MiLB umpire and selected for the 2025 MLB All-Star Futures Game

• Tim Barreras — Current Triple-A MiLB umpire

• Tyler Hovick — Current Double-A MiLB umpire and selected for the 2026 MLB All-Star Futures Game

• Dylan Hulsey — Current Double-A MiLB umpire

• Tatum Littleton — Current Double-A MiLB umpire

• Isaiah Terrell — Current Rookie-level MiLB umpire

• Kyler Duerson — 10 years of NCAA experience, including four years of postseason assignments

• Mike Duerson — 30 years of NCAA experience; medically retired in 2025

2026 Training Camps and Classes

NFHS Rules Study Class

Dates: September 23–October 28, 2026
Format: Six-week classroom and Zoom course
Cost: $50

This course is designed to strengthen participants’ understanding and application of NFHS baseball rules.

Participants who join the Rules Study Class may register for the September NFHS 2-Umpire Camp for only $100.

Dates: October 1–4, 2026

NFHS Advanced 2-Umpire Camp

Texas Umpire Development & Camps and NTUC will host a combined 2-umpire camp in January 2027.
