  1. All the Right Moves (1983)

One of Tom Cruise’s earliest movies, All the Right Moves tells the story of a young man living in an old steel town who doesn’t want to go to work in the mill. The Coach himself, Craig T. Nelson, plays the coach who helps Cruise’s character earn a scholarship.

  1. Varsity Blues (1999)

It’s Texas high school football on steroids. A crazy maniac of a head coach and a group of players trying to live up to the lifestyle granted them as stars of their high school football team.

  1. Invincible (2006)

Vince Papale never played college football, but that didn’t stop him from earning a tryout with the Philadelphia Eagles. It’s a classic “overcomer” story.

  1. We Are Marshall (2006)

It was one of the most devastating events ever in collegiate sports. In 1970, the team’s plane crashed killing all aboard. Matthew McConaughey plays coach Jack Lengyel who was tasked with rebuilding the Marshall football program.

The true story of Brian Piccolo, a running back for the Chicago Bears who became best friends with Hall of Famer Gale Sayers. You are not a true football fan if you have not teared up at the end of this masterpiece.
